2021-22 Atlanta Flames 12U

Head Coach

Jeff Anderson

The Flames 12U Anderson is primarily composed of players with 2009 birth years and is coached by Jeff Anderson and Aubrey Scher

Jeff comes from a softball family; his father coached varsity softball in Michigan for 38 years and both sisters played Division 1 softball.  While he tried everything to escape it as a teenager, once he had 2 daughters, you couldn’t keep him off the field.  Jeff coached Rec and All-Star tournament teams at Druid Hills Youth Sports before joining the Flames organization.  Aubrey loves coaching his two children in softball and baseball.  He has coached with Murphey Candler Girls Softball Association for over 10 seasons and is currently a league director on the Board.    Jeff and Aubrey prioritize hard work, strong fundamentals, knowledge of the game, and team culture.

As a first-year 12U team, the Flames played in 15+ tournaments between the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 seasons.  The team developed mental/emotional strength along with physical skills, made mistakes, learned a lot, and had fun doing it.  With that growth came wins including three tournament championship trophies.  Another big win for our team was a Halloween charity game supporting a local homeless shelter.

As we look toward the 2021/2022 season, we are looking for more team-first, coachable, mentally tough, resilient, and hardworking players (and their families) to join the team and the broader Flames organization.  We will be hosting open workouts in June/July and team tryouts in early August.  Check our Facebook Page for the latest on dates/times.
